Magma Express, the innovative air cargo solutions company, has promoted Tom Helyar to Chief Strategy Officer.
Tom Helyar, soon to celebrate 10 years at Magma Express, joined the business in 2011 as Financial Controller, progressing to Commercial Manager and then General Manager in 2015. Tom’s passion, experience and expert knowledge of the market and the Magma Express business has led him to this new role of Chief Strategy Officer.
This key role will enable Tom to take a more in-depth strategic position within the business, primarily focussed on strategic leadership and operations.
“The past 10 years has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am grateful that I have experienced the transitions that Magma Express has gone through” Tom says. “Joining when the business was an owner managed company, being part of the acquisition team when Magma Express joined the Chapman Freeborn Group, and then later becoming part of Avia Solutions Group, has given me real hands on experience, allowing me to develop leadership skills that take me into this new and exciting opportunity, and next stage of my career.
